Crunchy granola

by Kam

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and I love it to constantly try out new recipes. The possibilities are just endless. Sometimes I prefer it sweet, other days I’d rather go for savoury dishes. Sometimes all I need is a quick smoothie or  chia pudding. Sometimes I like to make it a rather lavish affair with waffles, a delicious frittata and baked beans. This granola recipe is easy and quick to make and keeps well stored in an airtight container for many days to sweeten your mornings. It tastes great with smoothies or just with some nut milk and fruits. I used all my favourite ingredients. Crunchy buckwheat, sweet dates and crispy almonds. Of course you can mix up the ingredients according to taste and liking.

Happy munching!

Crunchy granola

  • 3 cups oats, gluten-free or regular ones
  • 1 cup buckwheat groats
  • 1/2 cup flaxseeds
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped dry dates
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp date syrup

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C/375°F.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Place onto a baking sheet and bake on the middle rack for 10-15 minutes. Stir in between to roast everything equally.
