If you like to eat jam but want to stay away from refined sugar, then it can be really challenging to find jam without sugar. But look no further, I got you covered because it is so easy to just make your own jam. Done in no time and you have a much healthier kind of jam. Since there is no high sugar content inside, it won’t keep as long as a regular jam. It will still hold up for a couple of days in the fridge and since it is so quick to make you can just whip it up if needed. Chia seeds are the secret ingredient here to get the consistency right and they also add a good amount of omega 3’s and other important nutrients.
Like I mentioned in my last post, blackberries have been growing like crazy in our garden, so I made a berry and cherry jam. If you don’t have fresh berries on hand just use frozen ones. Works just as good and you can still make this jam in winter when there are no fresh berries around anyhow. This jam tastes great on toast or you can add it to your porridge or granola as well.
